celebrate-a-life

The 21st Annual Celebrate-A-Life event will take place this year from December 3-14, 2008 at Hillside Centre.  This event is held every December to allow people to take a few moments out of their busy holiday season to honour the memory of family and friends who have died.  Some visitors took the opportunity to make a donation to support end-of-life care at Victoria Hospice. Thank you, Victoria, for your generous donations totalling over $35,000 last year!

A visit to the Celebrate-A-Life display can take several forms. Visitors can:

write a message in a tribute card for the festive trees

illuminate a tree light

make a donation to support patient care at Victoria Hospice.

Celebrate . . .

.. the life of someone special

.. the sight of lights shining brightly in their honour

.. the memory of a lifetime of shared moments

.. the gift of hospice palliative care

Trained Victoria Hospice volunteers staff the annual Celebrate-A-Life display daily for two weeks during regular mall hours.  Enter via the Shelbourne Street mall entrance.

Celebrate-A-Life also included a beautiful non-denominational Memorial Service on Sunday, December 14th at the University of Victoria Interfaith Chapel to conclude this annual Victoria holiday season tradition.
